Clearcut logging threatens the coniferous forest. To clear land for homes, farms, or business, people sometimes chop down nearly every tree in an area. Clearcut logging wipes out habitats and leads to soil erosion. The soil’s top layers have all the nutrients. When the soil loses those layers, it loses its ability to grow plants.
